Teen model has bleach thrown in face

A teenage model said she has been left blind in one eye after she had bleach thrown in her face.

Victoria Smith, 17, suffered burns to her body when she was attacked leaving a party in Hull on Wednesday evening.

Humberside Police said a 17-year-old girl has been arrested on suspicion of attempting to cause grievous bodily harm with intent. The girl was released on police bail pending further inquiries.

Writing on Facebook, the victim said: “One of my eyes is now physically impaired and I am blind in (it), I will most likely never receive my vision in my right eye again.

“The outer layer of my eyes are permanently damaged and my hair has turned green from the bleach and has fallen out at the front.

“I have burns on my body from all the chemicals inside the bleach. I am in excruciating pain in my eyes as the ph in them was above 10.”

Victoria, who calls herself Toria Melody on Facebook and has a separate page showing photos of her modelling, said she has struggled with bullying at school, and the attack has now set her back.

A Humberside Police spokeswoman said “A 17-year-old girl was with a friend after leaving a house party when a known girl allegedly threw bleach in her face.”
