Beyoncé and Jay Z ‘to split after last show’

Speculation that music super-couple Beyoncé and husband Jay Z are to split has continued to grow.

The singers made no comment yesterday as rumours circulate that the will formally separate next month.

“They are 100% having problems,” a source close to the 32-year-old pop diva is quoted as telling Us magazine.

With an estimated $100m (€74.5m) from their hit On the Run tour on the line, the couple is understood to have postponed any public comment on their marriage until their joint concerts end in Paris on September 13. “She is the consummate professional,” an insider is quoted as telling Us. “After the tour, they’re done.”

The couple is reportedly sleeping in separate hotels as their six-year marriage falls apart.

A source was quoted by the New York Post as saying: “They’re not just staying in different hotel rooms, but they have booked separate hotels and they arrive separately to each show.”

Rumours of trouble began on June 28 when during a performance in Cincinnati, the Texas singer switched up the lyrics of the jilted-woman song ‘Resentment’, ad-libbing, “I couldn’t do it for you like that wack bitch could.”

In the meantime, the couple has tried to put on a united front by continually using social media to publicise their family life.

They were publicly humiliated by the May 12 leak of a security tape showing the singer’s sister, Solange, attacking the rapper in an elevator.

Sources told Us Solange was berating Jay Z for flirting with another woman. “It was a dark time,” said a pal. The pair decamped to New York’s Hamptons, says a tour source, to “talk about their marital problems and decide on the best course to repair any damage done by what had come out”.

And they had to protect their empire. “When they came back, they were all business,” said the insider.
