Ukrainian President - ‘We’ll attack, we will free our land’
Petro Poroshenko had extended the ceasefire from seven days to 10 as part of a plan to end the conflict that has killed more than 400 people since April. The idea was to give rebels a chance to lay down their weapons and to start a broader peace process including an amnesty and new elections.
However, the fragile truce expired last night when rebels did not disarm, and the ceasefire was continually violated.
