Police later arrested a burglar at Bullock’s Los Angeles home.
Los Angeles police spokeswoman Nuria Vanegas said officers responded to a call reporting a prowler at around 6.30am local time and arrested Joshua Corbett, 39, on suspicion of residential burglary.
Bullock’s publicist, Cheryl Maisel, told People magazine the actress was “unharmed and fine”.
The 49-year-old star is best known for her roles in Speed, Gravity, and The Blind Side, for which she won an Academy Award.
Bullock was conferred ‘The Decade Of Hotness’ Award at the Spike TV’s Guys Choice Awards 2014, which was held at Sony Pictures Studios on Saturday evening.
Bullock was presented with the award by her former co-stars Matthew McConaughey (A Time to Kill), Hugh Grant (Two Weeks’ Notice), and Keanu Reeves (Speed and The Lake House). The star received a gold ‘mantlers’ (a trophy in the shape of antlers), a Miss World style crown, a sash, and a bouquet of red roses.
The event was attended by the likes of Cameron Diaz, Jessica Alba, Rihanna, and many other celebrities. Rihanna was another winner on the night and picked up the gong for Most Desirable Woman.
Dallas Buyers Club star McConaughey was presented with the Guy Of The Year Award and was joined by his wife Camila Alves on stage.
“I feel like I’m at my funeral,” Bullock — who looked like she had just stepped off the Miss Congeniality set — said, laughing. ‘“Decade of Hotness’? My question was what decade? Because I have several under my belt. It really should be ‘decade of hot mess’, that I can own.
“I’m here because someone dropped out and they needed someone quickly and they know I’m home on Saturdays.
“I’d like to thank the Guys Choice Awards for this — the horns. How many people have held this up and said, ‘I’m so horny’? I can’t be the only one who has done that.”
