PR guru is first conviction under Operation Yewtree

Max Clifford has become the first person to be convicted as part of Operation Yewtree, the national investigation sparked by abuse claims against Jimmy Savile.

The guilty verdicts will be welcomed by police and prosecutors who had faced questions over the success of the inquiry, which so far has seen four people charged out of the 17 arrested.

Two of the six men who remain on bail, former pop star Gary Glitter and comedian Freddie Starr, have been on bail for 18 months.
