Sun monitor may assist in campaign against skin cancer

As part of the Wearable Technology Conference in London, US start-up SunFriend introduced the UVA+B Activity Monitor ahead of its full release next month.

The wristband contains a light sensor that registers the amount of direct sunlight you receive, combining it with a sensitivity level to create a set time you should spend in the sun. It flashes once the wearer reaches the recommended daily amount of UV exposure, and it is the first product of its kind to be launched.
