The row between Sinead O’Connor and Miley Cyrus has topped a list of the biggest celebrity spats of the year in Rolling Stone.

The spat features on the music bible’s list of the 20 Biggest Feuds and Meltdown of 2013.

Kanye West, Katy Perry, Justin Bieber, Chris Brown, and Selena Gomez also make the list of “freakouts and Twitter rants”.

The argument aptly began on the pages of the magazine in an interview with Cyrus when she credited the Irish singer for inspiring her ‘Wrecking Ball’ video.

“It started innocently enough: Miley referenced O’Connor’s ‘Nothing Compares 2 U’ video as an inspiration for her own ‘Wrecking Ball’ clip,” Rolling Stone explained.

“But O’Connor used that as an invitation to pen Cyrus an open letter, advising Miley to not let the music industry ‘make a prostitute out of you’.

“Cyrus responded — on Twitter of course — by poking fun at Sinead’s past public emotional breakdowns, comparing her to Amanda Bynes and posting a photo of O’Connor’s controversial ripping of the Pope’s photo on Saturday Night Live.”

Rolling Stone said that “O’Connor threatened legal action if Cyrus didn’t take down her tweets”.

The magazine concluded that Cyrus involved herself in the row to drum up publicity for her appearance on the iconic Saturday Night Live, to plug her album.

The magazine named Kanye West in his own category as ‘Kanye West vs. The Universe’, as it implied he had too many rows to name on the list.

They included: “Kanye versus the paparazzi. Kanye versus Grammy voters. Kanye versus Nike. Kanye versus Sway. Kanye versus Zappos. Kanye versus South Park. Kanye versus good taste.”
