Digital autopsy will cut out knife

Europe’s first non-invasive digital autopsies will be conducted at a state-of-the-art British centre.

The £3m (€3.6m) unit in Sheffield will enable pathologists to perform some autopsies without a surgical dissection of the body.

It is the only place in the world equipped to use the revolutionary technique outside Malaysia, where it was developed, and is intended as the first of a network across Britain.
