PayPal mistakenly makes man a quadrillionaire

Pennsylvania’s Chris Reynolds, who buys and sells car parts online, checked his PayPal account to discover he had become by far the world’s richest man.

In fact the balance credited him with more money than the world’s annual gross domestic product.

“I’m just feeling like a million bucks”, Reynolds said when asked about the technical glitch.

When Reynolds went to check his actual funds available on the site, he saw the amount was, in fact, zero.

The 56-year-old had opened his monthly-statement by email to discover that his balance was a cool $92,233,720,368,547,800.

PayPal has not commented on the glitch but Reynolds spoke about how he would have spent the money.

“I’m a very responsible guy,” he said.

“I would pay the national debt down first. Then I would buy the Phillies, if I could get a great price.”

Reynolds said that he routinely exchanges about $100 a month through the site.

And he joked that he made a “generous” $30 donation to a local Delaware County Council candidate after seeing the enormous PayPal statement.
