Goalie shot in head finishes game

Dusko Krtalica, 51, was taking part in a tournament in Sarajevo, when he got a sharp pain in his head.

He wrongly believed it was from hitting his head against the goalpost and continued to finish out the game, only conceding one goal.

It was only after the final whistle that Krtalica noticed that his hand was getting stiff, and that he was having trouble speaking.

He was taken to hospital where shocked doctors showed him an x-ray of a bullet lodged in his head. He is in a stable condition.

Police believe he may have been shot by a stray bullet fired as part of celebrations of a wedding taking place nearby.

There were at least three weddings taking place and police discovered 12 pistol shells at one location alone, which, have been sent to ballistic experts.

They have arrested 42-year-old Seyne Ligata, who was at a wedding in the locality and a file has been sent to prosecutors.
