Klass of milk? Myleene ‘made everyone’ try her breastmilk
In an interview with the London Evening Standard newspaper, Myleene told an anecdote about her father, a senior officer in the Royal Navy, enjoying an unusual cuppa.
She said: “I grew up knowing that he did that (drank breast milk) so it’s not weird to me. I sound like a happy-clappy hippy. Oh well, now you know. We’re that kind of family.”
The singer and model, 35, who has two daughters aged 5 and 2, said she had even offered her own milk to family and friends.
She said: “What? It’s not weird. God, have I just blown a Klass family secret without realising? Come on, it’s normal!”
She added: “I made everyone try mine. It tastes just like those probiotic yoghurt drinks. Sweet — not as sweet as condensed milk.”
The former pop star made the revelation during an interview about her role as ambassador for charity The Big If London, calling for G8 leaders to tackle world hunger.
She was later keen to state that she doesn’t actually breastfeed her friends and family, and tweeted: “OMG! I don’t breastfeed my friends, myself or anyone else, although by the sounds of it, there’s a lot of BIG BABIES out there!”
While there is no documented evidence specifically on using breast milk in adults, many believe that breast milk can heal or help conditions such as cancer, Chrohn’s disease, infections and rashes.
In the interview, she also discussed her annoyance with politicians: “I could never be a politician. It’s beyond dull. They just sit around and talk. It would be nice if they proved they could do something rather than playing up to the shoddy image we have of them.
“We expect them to fiddle our taxes, fiddle their expenses and fiddle with their secretaries. Stop fiddling. Do something.”
