Toronto’s troubled mayor said a purported video of him smoking crack cocaine did not exist and vowed to seek re-election next year.

Rob Ford, the leader of Canada’s largest city, also attacked the media over its coverage of the story, calling journalists a “bunch of maggots”.

Speaking on the weekly radio show he hosts with his brother, Doug, a city council member, he reiterated that the allegations were ridiculous, but he still has not said whether he has ever used crack.
