‘I thought that my girl was alive’

The father of one of the three people who died in the Boston Marathon bombings was at first told that his daughter had survived, but was in surgery and could lose a leg.

It was a harrowing case of mistaken identity which led her family to believe that she was still alive.

When William Campbell arrived at Massachusetts General Hospital, however, he learned his daughter, Krystle Campbell, 29 had died.
