Sin, death, and hell have set their marks on him
Long demonised by William Shakespeare’s 1592 play and film versions starring the likes of Lawrence Olivier and Ian McKellen, now things are looking up for Richard III. Scientists announced they had found the monarch’s 500-year-old remains under a car park in Leicester — a discovery Richard’s fans say will inspire new research into his history.
University of Leicester researchers say tests on a battle-scarred skeleton unearthed last year have proved “beyond reasonable doubt” that it is Richard, who died at the Battle of Bosworth Field in 1485, and whose remains have been missing for centuries.
