‘Housewives’ case mistrial

A US judge has declared a mistrial in the wrongful dismissal case brought by former Desperate Housewives star Nicollette Sheridan after jurors could not agree a verdict.

The group deliberated for more than two days on Sheridan’s claim that her Edie Britt character was killed off in retaliation forher complaints that series creator Marc Cherry had struck her on the show’s set in Sept 2008 was denied.

Sheridan was seeking roughly $6m (over €4.5m) in damages.
