Former ‘Bill’ star dies

Actor Colin Tarrant, who was best known for his role as Inspector Andrew Monroe in The Bill, has died, his family said.

No details of his death were given, but the People reported he died in a suspected suicide and was found at his home in Bristol with knife wounds.

Tarrant, 59, had acted in a number of stage shows since leaving the long-running ITV police drama, which was axed in 2010.
