Brooks wins $1m lawsuit

Integris Canadian Valley Regional Hospital in Yukon, Oklahoma, must pay Brooks $1m, jurors ruled. That includes Brooks’s $500,000 donation plus $500,000 in punitive damages.

Brooks said he thought he had reached a deal in 2005 with the hospital’s president and sued after learning the hospital wanted to use the money for other construction projects.
