POLICE say an American who has claimed successful parachute jumps off the Eiffel Tower and the Golden Gate Bridge broke his legs in a failed attempt off Cape Town’s Table Mountain.

Police spokesman Ezra October said yesterday the jumper was 35-year-old Jeb Corliss.

Table Mountain National Park spokeswoman Merle Collins told the Cape Times newspaper that Corliss did not have permission for Monday’s attempt and could face charges.
