President is ‘cancer-free’

ARGENTINE president Cristina Fernandez does not have cancer, top doctors say.

After leading cancer surgeons completely removed her thyroid gland, tests showed no presence of any cancerous cells, presidential spokesman Alfredo Scoccimarro said.

Fernandez, 58, who underwent the surgery last Wednesday just 25 days after beginning her second term in office, has left hospital and is recovering at the presidential residence in suburban Olivos.
