Libyan connection

A LOUTH-based doctor and a Dublin electronics lecturer have been named as Libya’s new health and education ministers after taking leading roles during the revolution in the country.

Dr Fatima Hamroush and Fathi Akkari were appointed by the National Transitional Council (NTC) when the new government was announced yesterday.

Both were central behind-the-scenes figures in the quasi-independent revolt.
