Illegal site eviction turns violent as 23 arrested

TWENTY-THREE people were arrested and two were Tasered, as the eviction of Travellers on Dale Farm descended into violence.

Protesters were arrested for various offences including violent disorder, breach of the peace and obstruction, after riot police entered Britain’s largest illegal Travellers’ site in Essex to clear the way for bailiffs.

About 50 officers were pelted with rocks and liquids as they broke down a rear fence to get in.
