Corrie star vows to clear his name after abuse claims

CORONATION Street star Michael Le Vell has vowed to do “everything in his power” to clear his name following allegations he abused a schoolgirl.

The 46-year-old actor, who plays mechanic Kevin Webster in the popular soap, was arrested at his Cheshire home on Friday by Greater Manchester Police on suspicion of a sexual offence.

He was taken to a police station, where he was held for questioning.
