ENGINEERS have unveiled a solar-power station that uses thousands of mirrors to track the sun in order to burn off fresh water from the sea.

The high-tech device is one of a series of inventions that could solve the world water shortage and is included in a new exhibition at the Science Museum in London.

Exhibition manager Sarah Richardson said: “Water scarcity is a big issue that’s going to affect us all and we can’t ignore it any longer.”
