Bomb blast on Turkish beach

NTV television said the bomb went off on a beach in Kemer, in Antalya province, a resort popular with tourists from Germany, the Netherlands and Russia. The bomb was buried in the sand and the injured were mostly hurt by flying stones.

There was no immediate claim of responsibility, but Kurdish rebels fighting for autonomy in south-eastern Turkey have carried out attacks at tourist resorts in the past.
