Rembrandt recovered

A SMALL Rembrandt drawing that was stolen from a Southern California luxury hotel over the weekend has been recovered.

The Dutch master’s quill pen and ink drawing, titled The Judgment, measures 28cm by 15cm, and is worth €175,000.

Officials from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said it had been recovered, but did not provide further details.

The sheriff’s office said an art thief managed to steal the drawing last Saturday from a private art display in the Ritz-Carlton Hotel lobby in Marina del Rey while the exhibition curator was distracted.
