‘Traitors’ killed rebel leader

THE son of the Libyan rebel commander assassinated last week has blamed “traitors” in Libya’s rebel-held east for his father’s death.

Moatasim Abdul Fatah demanded an open investigation and speedy trials for the perpetrators of his killing.

The rebel leadership has insisted Abdel-Fattah Younes’s killing was the work of Muammar Gaddafi’s regime.

But several witnesses say Younes — who was Gaddafi’s interior minister before defecting to the opposition earlier this year — was killed by fellow rebels.
