Harry Potter tops billion-dollar mark
Distributor Warner Bros said yesterday that Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 had crossed the $1 billion (€696 million) mark at box offices worldwide.
The last of the eight films about the young wizard, based on the books by JK Rowling, it became the first in the franchise to reach that level. The previous best global haul was $974.8m for the original film, 2001’s Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone.
