Rowling, one of the richest women in the world, had worked with Christopher Little since he found a publisher for her first novel, Harry Potter And The Philosopher’s Stone, in August 1996.

A spokeswoman for Rowling said there was no comment regarding reports of potential legal action from Little.

Meanwhile, Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe has revealed he has given up drinking after becoming “reliant” on alcohol.

The actor, 21, said he has not touched a drop of alcohol since last August, when he realised that he was not suited to the party lifestyle.

Radcliffe said he began to think that he should be living a “celebrity life” and became “a little bit” complacent while filming the 2009 Potter adventure The Half-Blood Prince.

He told GQ magazine: “I became so reliant on (alcohol) to enjoy stuff.”
