Cook jailed for failed bomb

A COOK who admitted plotting to blow up a court in Springfield, Illinois, was jailed for 28 years.

Michael Finton, 31, thought he was planning the attack with a member of al-Qaida, but he was actually talking to an undercover agent.

He parked a van in front of the court, believing it to be packed with explosives. Then he made a mobile phone call to trigger the blast. But the explosives were fake and the phone call did nothing.
