Conrad to be re-sentenced
Black appeared yesterday for a 10-minute hearing in federal court in Chicago.
An appeals court reversed two of the former Daily Telegraph owner’s convictions last year, citing a US Supreme Court ruling curtailing the “honest services” laws used to convict him of defrauding investors in Hollinger International Inc.
The court upheld one conviction for fraud and one for obstruction of justice.
US District Judge Amy St Eve confirmed yesterday that she would re-sentence Black on June 24.
Black has asked the US Supreme Court to hear an appeal on the two remaining charges. It has not said whether it will hear the case.
