Abdul reunites with Cowell
The move will see her reunited with fellow judge Simon Cowell, her former sparring partner on American Idol.
Filming began in Los Angeles yesterday. Abdul was not named until late in the process because makers Fox and the show’s producers had not authorised public comment.
Cheryl Cole and Grammy-winning producer Antonio “LA” Reid will be the other judges on the show.
The X Factor USA will premiere in the autumn.
