ITALIAN prime minister Silvio Berlusconi made a fresh attack on prosecutors as he arrived in court for the latest in a series of tax fraud trials that have overshadowed political life in Italy.

Berlusconi’s legal battles have prompted government accusations he is being unfairly targeted by left-wing judges and claims from the opposition he has been focusing on the cases to the exclusion of all else.

Arriving at the court in Milan, Berlusconi welcomed the news that Osama Bin Laden had been killed by US troops before launching a fresh attack on magistrates he says are trying to destroy his career.
