Superman’s plan to renounce US citizenship causes uproar

SUPERMAN has caused a stir with the declaration that he plans to renounce his US citizenship in a move aimed at giving him more global clout.

The decision, made in Action Comics No 900, caused consternation online among readers who liken the Man of Steel’s declaration to go before the United Nations and “inform them I am renouncing my citizenship” to abandoning the ideals of truth, justice and the American way.

DC Comics said the Kryptonian superhero was not abandoning his adopted country, but putting a global focus on his battle against evil.
