The figures, compiled for Radio 2, count down the top-selling tracks which were recorded especially for films.

Love Is All Around, covered by Wet Wet Wet for Hugh Grant’s Four Weddings And A Funeral, came second.

Stevie Wonder’s I Just Called To Say I Love You, which featured in The Woman In Red, is the third-biggest seller in Britain.

Everything I Do (I Do It For You) — the Bryan Adams ballad from the movie Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves, which remained at the top of the British charts for 16 weeks — is fourth.

Another Grease track — Summer Nights from the 1978 movie — was fifth.

Tony Blackburn counted down the top 30 biggest-selling songs of all time from the movies yesterday.
