Pupil, 7, dies after beating

AN Islamic school teacher is being investigated in Malaysia for allegedly beating to death a seven-year-old boy accused of stealing €1.60.

The boy was said to have been tied to a window, beaten and strangled.

Mohamad Nadzri Hussain, a police chief in northern Perlis state, said Saiful Syazani Saiful Sopfidee died in hospital of injuries sustained during last Thursday’s beating at the private school.
