Germany’s ‘Josef Fritzl’ jailed for 14 years
Judge Winfried Hetger gave the 48-year-old man, identified only as Detlef S, a 14-and-a-half year sentence, but ruled that he should remain imprisoned indefinitely because of a high risk that he could offend again if released. His lawyer had asked for a sentence of nine-and-a-half years, and could appeal it in a week.
The suspect was found guilty of abuse that started in 1987 and lasted until 2010 in the village of Fluterschen, near Bonn — starting with the molestation of his stepson and stepdaughter when they were four and six years old, Judge Hetger said.
