Killer taxi driver shot brother 11 times, inquest told

CUMBRIA taxi driver Derrick Bird shot his twin brother 11 times in his bedroom before going on to gun down 11 other victims, an inquest into their deaths has heard.

Bereaved relatives listened aghast to the details of Bird’s killing rampage on June 2 last year which began when he turned a rifle on his half-naked brother.

Detective Chief Superintendent Iain Goulding, from Cumbria Police, set out the details of the horrific killing spree, which rocked the rural Lake District community.
