A man has been arrested over three shootings that killed 20 people on the outskirts of Mexico City, blamed on a brutal cartel trying to seize drug-dealing territory in the capital.

Juan Carlos Vasconcelos, 24, was suspected of leading a team of hitmen for La Familia cartel.

He was arrested along with two alleged accomplices.
