Mountain fall

A CLIMBER told yesterday how he feared he might die as he fell 1,000 feet down a Scottish mountain.

Mountain fall

Adam Potter, 35, tumbled down the steep slope after slipping near the top of 3,589ft (1,094m) Sgurr Choinnich Mor, around 8km east of Ben Nevis.

However, rescuers in a Royal Navy helicopter found him standing up reading a map when they arrived on the scene on Saturday afternoon.

He broke his back in three places but is able to walk and was yesterday recovering in hospital in Glasgow.
