Avon and Somerset Police said Vincent Tabak, who lived next door to Yeates in Bristol, will appear at the city’s magistrates court today.

Tabak, an architectural engineer, was arrested on Thursday following a televised appeal by Yeates’ parents for anyone with information about their daughter’s death to come forward.

Yeates, 25, was last seen on December 17 after buying a pizza and two bottles of cider on her way home from a Bristol pub.

Her body was found by the side of a country lane about three kilometres from her flat, eight days after she disappeared. She had been strangled.
