Brent is back
The comic will come face to face with Steve Carell, who plays his counterpart, Michael Scott, in the US remake of the hit BBC show.
Writing on his blog, Gervais confirmed the news and said: “Blink and you’ll miss it, but just a little thanks to Steve Carell. A pleasure to work with the great man.”
Gervais became a worldwide star when he co-wrote, directed and starred in the original version of The Office as the well-meaning but foolish Brent.
