Two injured in embassy blasts

TWO people were injured when packages exploded at the Swiss and Chilean embassies in Rome yesterday.

The first explosion occurred when the package was opened by a Swiss embassy staff member who was injured and taken to hospital, news agencies reported.

There have been growing concerns in Europe about holiday season attacks following a suicide bombing in Sweden and security services’ fears of an assault on a European city modelled on the deadly shooting spree in Mumbai, India.
