A MASSIVE blast on a state-owned pipeline in central Mexico yesterday killed 11 people, injured 12 others and damaged more than 30 surrounding homes, state officials said.

Puebla state secretary Valentin Meneses said the pre-dawn explosion along the Petroleos Mexicanos pipeline in the town of Texmelucan occurred when thieves were trying to steal fuel.

“Two of the injured are in serious condition,” Meneses told reporters, adding that crews had managed to douse the flames and bring the fire under control.
