MUSLIM leaders have condemned last week’s suicide bombing in the Swedish capital Stockholm.

Swedish blast condemned

At the Stockholm Mosque, Imam Ben Mahmoud Rahmeh said: “We are true Muslims and a true Muslim has nothing to do with a terror act.”

Rahmeh said: “Sweden is our country and its people are our people. What pleases the country pleases us. What hurts the nation hurts us.”

The Islamic federation in Sweden says the text of his sermon has been sent to mosques around the country as inspiration for their Friday prayers.

An Iraqi-born Swede, Taimour Abdulwahab al-Abdaly, 28, who lived with his family in Luton, killed himself and injured two people in what police say was a botched suicide bombing.
