Policeman on shooting spree

A POLICE officer in a central Kenyan town went on a shooting rampage, killing 10 people in three different bars, officials said yesterday.

The shooting spree happened last night in Siakago, 144km north-east of the capital, Nairobi.

Officials are investigating the shootings, said provincial police chief Marcus Ochole. He confirmed 10 people were killed.

The officer is in police custody and his motive for the killings is still unclear.
