ITALY’S state lottery offered a record €153.7 million jackpot, but millions of Italians hoping to snatch the mind-numbing sum failed to guess the right numbers.

The odds of picking the lucky six-number combination in the SuperEnalotto game were about 1 in 622 million, according to Italian news reports.

Lottery officials described the prize as the highest jackpot ever in Italy. Nobody has won the top prize since early February.
