Ceausescu son sues theatre

THE son of former Romanian communist leader Nicolae Ceausescu has sued a theatre for performing a play about his late parents, arguing he wants the “Ceausescu” trademark to be protected.

“Nobody is entitled to use this trademark for a profit without the owner’s consent,” Valentin Ceausescu’s attorney said before a Bucharest court on Thursday.

Called “The Last Hours of Ceausescu“, the docu-play was written by Milo Rau of the International Institute of Political Murder (IIPM) based in Berlin and Zurich.
