Gibson crashes car into hillside

MEL GIBSON has escaped uninjured after crashing into a Malibu hillside, the California Highway Patrol has said.

The agency said Gibson crashed his 2008 Maserati into a hillside on southbound Malibu Canyon Road around 8.35pm on Sunday.

Gibson’s spokesman, Alan Nierob, said the actor is doing fine. Police said Gibson was alone in the car and alcohol was not suspected in the crash. A news release said a friend picked up the actor-director, 54, at the scene.
