Teen charged with assault

A 15-YEAR-OLD boy appeared in court yesterday charged with kidnapping and indecently assaulting an eight-year-old girl as she walked home from a park, police said.

The child was playing in the Hill Street area of Penygraig, South Wales, on August 6 when she was approached by a teenager on her way home and led to a nearby lane where he touched her and tried to kiss her.

The girl was “upset and frightened” by what happened, South Wales Police said. After the incident, which took place between 7.30pm and 8pm, the girl told her mother what happened.
