A TWENTY-FIRST person was arrested today in connection with the investigation into fugitive gunman Raoul Moat.

A 26-year-old man was arrested in Newcastle this morning on suspicion of assisting an offender, according to the Northumbria Police.

Bouncer Moat, 37, from Newcastle, shot his ex-lover, killed her new boyfriend, blasted an unarmed policeman then went on the run for a week before shooting himself in Rothbury, Northumberland.

A Northumbria Police spokeswoman said: “This brings the total number of people arrested in connection with this case to 21.”
